Operations Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detailed Operations Specialist to join our growing team! The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for daily operations, including shipment tracking and processing, accurate input of data into various systems, and providing exceptional customer service in a time-sensitive and sometimes demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Client and account management - ensure each client’s unique needs are met in a professional, friendly, and prompt manner.
• Daily Shipment Processing - receive customer documentation and verify all required documents have been submitted, complete Importer Security and Customs Entry filings, and shipment tracking and dispatching.
• Billing - process timely and accurate billing for all shipments and submit payment requests to Accounting.
• Document indexing and database maintenance - assist with maintaining updated information in the database as needed.
• General office - answer phone calls, file and organize paperwork, other duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• 1-2 years in freight forwarding, brokerage, or logistics preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
• Excellent customer service and client management skills
• Proficient in Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite
• Process-oriented and proactive mindset
• Ability to work with data in various formats
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and find new solutions
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

This is a largely sedentary role that requires an individual to be in a seated position for much of the time. This position requires constant operation of a computer and other office equipment such as a telephone, copier, or scanner.

This position requires an individual to be able to communicate and exchange accurate information and inspect documents for information.

Salary Range : $19-$23 / hour based on experience

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm CST
