The primary responsible for an Admissions Clinician is performing all aspects of the assessment and admissions processes in the Admissions Department.

• Additional responsibilities include efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of, and communication with referral sources;
• providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate;
• assessing and triaging an individuals’ mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the physician;
• identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staffing and admitting physician when necessary;

documenting all required information in Med Series 4.

Qualifications

Must have a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field.

Must have two years in the Mental Health Field preferably in Intake / Triage / Admissions area.
