The role :
The Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant will work closely with our VP, Finance & Operations and President to support our rapidly expanding business.
Depending on applicant’s interest, the position can include operational responsibilities, as well.
This role is based in our bright and cheery metro-accessible Bethesda office with the option to work hybrid or in office.
Responsibilities :
- Manage billing and invoicing on a weekly basis.
- Record payments and prepare aging reports with analyses.
- Reconcile payroll journal entries.
- Track revenue and prepare commission schedules, including accrual and reversal JEs.
- Prepare management reports around revenue, expenses, profit by business line.
- Process payroll for employees and consultants. Process 1099 payments to contractors.
- Implement and and document new / improved processes.
- Assist with developing budgets and plans.
- Manage expense reimbursement and credit card reconciliation.
- Assist with developing pricing models.
- Support recruiting team with document preparation for clients and consultants.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Math.
- 4+ years’ professional experience.
- Prior experience in audit or accounting.
- Strong Excel experience
- An interest in a broad role in a hands-on environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to arrive at the correct answer.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to connect with people, listen and solve problems.
- Self-motivated, resilient, tenacious, able to cope with and learn from failure.
- Able to meet deadlines, dependable and conscientious.
