Job Description
The National Energy Foundation (NEF) seeks part-time, seasonal Energy Educators to conduct instructional energy education presentations in K-12 classrooms.
Educators will engage students with enthusiasm, clear communication, and the ability to work independently or in small teams.
Responsibilities include learning about energy sources, processes, and efficiency, as well as using presentation technologies.
Ideal candidates have experience with children, can travel by car or air, and meet all safety and security requirements.
Compensation ranges from $110 to $270 per day, plus mileage and food per diem. This role involves flexible schedules, with mandatory training and adherence to NEF policies.
We are seeking Energy Educators in the Kalamazoo and Detroit, Michigan region. Virtual interviews start November 18, 2024.
In person training is February 5 & 6, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable or willingness to learn about basic energy sources, processes, and energy efficiency
- Energetic individual, presentations require standing and interacting with students in an enthusiastic manner
- Engage students with clear communication, written and verbal and strong vocal projection
- Comfortable working as a 1 or 2-person team
- Comfortable with Keynote, PowerPoint and online presentations / equipment technology
- Represent NEF and sponsors in a professional manner
Qualifications
I. Education / Experience Skills :
- Classroom teaching experience or prior work with children desirable
- Capable of using all software and equipment independently for implementation of programs
II. Personal Requirements :
- Current driver's license
- Current personal auto insurance coverage
- Ability to travel by air / car
- Access and use of reliable transportation to travel to, from and between scheduled presentations (work assignments)
- Personal credit card required for travel expense charges (Reimbursed upon completion and submission of paperwork to NEF)
- Available for training sessions when needed
- Willing to comply with all school security / safety procedures (i.e., fingerprinting, drug testing, vaccines, background check, etc.)
- May be subject to sponsor approval
- Capable of carrying up to forty pounds
- Must adhere to NEF dress code
- Must adhere to the NEF Energy Educator COVID Policy
