Sous Chef in Training

Our popular restaurant is looking for a forward-thinking and talented chef to work alongside our Executive chef to give our guests a great dining experience.

We require an effective supervisor who can maintain our standards for all food leaving the kitchen, and guarantee health and safety regulations are met.

Our ideal candidate is an up-and-coming culinary leader who can develop great personnel to provide guests with a top-notch dining experience.

You must have experience in an upscale setting as a lead line cook / kitchen supervisor. Apply today if you are ready to bring your creative culinary expertise to The Abalone!

Compensation : $20 - $22 hourly

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Help train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques, cooking methods, and portion control
  • Collaborate with the Exec and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and ensure consistency in food quality
  • Handle customer inquiries or concerns regarding food quality or service

Qualifications :

  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers
  • This role requires experience building, motivating, and leading a team
  • Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
  • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage
  • This role requires 5-6 years of culinary experience
