The Emergency Medical Technician Educator is responsible for the delivery of EMS related programs for the Hartford Healthcare EMS Network.

These programs may include didactics given in lecture format, EMS career skills evaluation, simulation based scenarios, and simulation or education based curriculum that is appropriate to each course.

EMT Educators will work collaboratively with other HHC EMS Network instructors, CESI simulation technicians, among other key stakeholders.

Course leadership including medical director(s) as well as internal and external customers to ensure consistency, continuity and cost-effectiveness across the continuum.

The educational programs will provide an optimal learning experience that promotes high standards of clinical care, advocating patient safety, teamwork, and professional practice.

EMT Educators will provide training and education in HHC EMS Network programs such as EMT programs, cardiac related topics, airway management, BLS and ACLS classes to ensure individual practitioner competence and program compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare preferred
  • Minimum 5 years EMS or healthcare experience
  • BLS and ACLS provider certifications
  • Current State of Connecticut EMT or Paramedic License
