GTI specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and deployment of custom modular structures, shipping container-based structures, and ballistic metal fabrication.
We serve multiple industries, including DOD contractors, military, disaster relief, and commercial markets. Our containerized and modular solutions are all built in-house at our factory in Buffalo, NY.
Manufacturing capabilities range from military training, live fire enclosures, bathroom / shower units, expeditionary camps, medical facilities, water treatment, electrical / energy storage enclosures, and much more.
The GTI team consists professionals spanning from fabrication and engineering to government and military specialists. Our combination of expertise allows us to provide top quality solutions and customer service for various industries and missions.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will assist in the design of prefabricated metal enclosures. With this role, the individual will be using SolidWorks computer software on a daily basis to complete their assigned work.
Job Responsibilities :
- Create 2D and 3D electronic design plans for prefabricated enclosures. Details of the prefabricated enclosures encompass structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and communication systems including, duct systems, piping systems, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment using AutoCAD and SolidWorks computer software.
- Create and modify technical drawings and schematics.
- Coordinate routing of ductwork, piping and miscellaneous components with other trades.
- Review design models with design team during design
- Meet with customers on a regular basis. Coordinate and communicate design with customers.
- Support GTI's Engineers and Designers.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 10-15 years’ experience with production of detailed fabrication design drawings and documents
- Experience with interconnectivity of mechanical weldments, mechanical fastening, tolerances, adjustability, clearances.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects.
- Experience with production of fabrication drawings and review of documents for completeness. Review PDFs prior to release to fabrication.
- Must have experience with manufacturing.
- Must have skills : Critical thinking, problem solving, strong technical background and communication.
- Software Requirements : Solidworks, AutoCAD, Adobe, Microsoft products
- Ability to provide portfolio with examples of fabrication drawings
