This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in our Seattle office.

This position is responsible for the receivables area of the accounting department, to ensure that all policies and guidelines are followed.

This position will perform day-to-day tasks associated with processing client payments and refunds. We offer a hybrid work engagement.

On a typical day you will :

  • Serve as the accounts receivable point-of-contact and provide responsive customer support to management and staff regarding client payments
  • Assure that all client payment posting guidelines are followed by all departments
  • Post incoming payments research overpayments and unidentified receipts Maintain documentation of all receipts including client back-up
  • Process check / wire transfer requests for client refunds including correspondence to explain the refund and action taken
  • Provide up-to-date documentation of special posting information for clients, third parties and insurance companies
  • Assist with coverage of the centralized Accounts Receivable email inbox
  • Process approved write-offs and payment reversals and save copies of the forms in accordance with firm practices
  • Provide back-up for other Accounts Receivable positions, and perform other tasks, as necessary
  • Complete special projects upon request

Join us if you have :

  • 2+ years accounts receivable or related experience preferred
  • GED or High School Diploma required; advanced education preferred
  • Strong customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous manner with clients, firm members, and other business contacts
  • Advanced skill level of standard MS Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Understanding and proficiency with Aderant Expert, Elite Enterprise, or similar comprehensive or enterprise-level accounting software experience
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, multi-task effectively, and be highly organized and accurate
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take feedback positively
  • General knowledge of basic GAAP rules of accounting preferred
  • General knowledge of the Washington State Bar Association's IOLTA trust and accounting rules and regulations
  • Strong writing skills and excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Washington State

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $50,000 to $55,000 ($25.64-$28.21 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.

For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly.

Additional voluntary programs include : voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.

Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
