SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Nevada Hospital Association (NHA) President, the Government Relations Coordinator is responsible for researching and developing policy papers promoting the advocacy goals of Nevada hospitals.

The Government Relations Coordinator will also assist NHA staff members with various projects throughout the year.

EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions :

  • Researching and creating reports to provide credible information to decision makers.
  • Staying current on legislative and administrative hearings, workshops, and other activities at the Federal and State levels.
  • Preparing letters, reports, handouts, and testimony
  • Tracking legislation
  • Organizing meetings
  • Assisting with various projects during the year including hospital data reporting, the NHA Annual Meeting, financial reporting and various other projects as assigned
  • Limited lobbying at the Federal, State, and local levels

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel using word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Legislative Experience
  • Experience in healthcare

Job Type : Full-time

Salary : $70,000 - $95,000.00 per year based on qualifications
