POSTION OVERVIEW :
The packaging operator is responsible for overseeing the packaging equipment as it is made into finished goods. This individual will be regularly communicating with other operators, quality techs, and the area supervisor to ensure the process runs smoothly.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operating equipment to produce final mix and / or bulk ingredients to be use in final mix
- Navigating Human Interface Screen to select proper recipe and monitor progress of recipe throughout batch
- Kitting of batches through weigh out of minor ingredients
- Responsible to accurately create and consume inventory in an inventory management system
- Operating a forklift to move pallets of raw material.
- Sanitation of the plant and equipment.
- Performance of Quality Checks & Inspections
- Keep area clean and organized.
- Attend production meetings.
- Complete necessary paperwork.
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues that occur with the process or equipment.
- Utilize computer skills to work in the ERP system and other necessary programs.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Self-directed and personally motivated
- Attention to detail
- Able to be adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Good team player able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment
- Good attendance and performance track record.
- Able to effectively time manage and prioritize job functions
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- 3+ years food production and / or machine operating experience
- Good knowledge of and / or passion for learning about coffee manufacturing
- Strong general mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of food safety and food quality standards
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- All positions require a high school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education is a plus.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift.
The employees must frequently lift and / or move items up to and including sixty (60) pounds. Employee will need to be able to lift bags above waist level on regular basis.
Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This employee may occasionally have to operate business machinery. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Mental demands include multi-tasking, decision making, problem solving, comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing data.
