Key responsibilities :
As a Biomarker Sample Management Associate you will be responsible for providing sample management support to ligand binding analysis and FACS-based biomarker laboratories.
The samples are collected from preclinical and clinical studies in various therapeutic areas including oncology, neuroscience, immunology, and virology.
- Facilitate daily operation of sample receipt, distribution, storage, inventory management, and disposition of reagents and biological materials while ensuring end-to-end chain of custody
- Work independently to complete the sample check-in process in the validated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Adeptly work with diverse stakeholders such as bioanalytical scientists, laboratory sample operations group, clinical operations, precision medicine team regarding biological material shipments, schedules, and discrepancies identified during the verification process
- Maintains knowledge of current regulations related to the clinical sample handling and ensures that reconciliation of sample information is achieved to deliver assay-ready samples to testing teams
- Ensure disposition of biological samples is in accordance with SOPs or study protocol
- Assists in development and implementation of standard operating procedures
- Assist in biomarker data transfer to clinical database
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
- Scientist : Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years’)
- OR Masters degree
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and / or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Experience in LIMS Systems for sample handling and tracking
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with meticulous record keeping
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a consistent basis (may use a cart for heavy loads)
- Experience working in a regulated or GLP environment is a plus
- Ability to handle ultra-low temperatures such as - 60 degrees Celsius freezers and cryogenic freezers for liquid nitrogen that are Celsius.
