Job Summary

In this exciting position, the Program Manager II will be an integral role for coordinating JSOM (Jindal School of Management) distance learning strategy and implementation.

The professional in this position will coordinate and complete asynchronous course development and manage support and training on learning technologies for faculty, students, and staff.

They will also train and supervise the Program Specialist II and Student Workers.

This position will report to JSOM’s Academic Director of Distance Learning and help execute the strategy of the Jindal Production Standard for synchronous and asynchronous courses in JSOM.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree; Five to seven years experience in a field relevant to the program; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field

and five to seven years of experience in instructional design and instructional materials development.

  • Thorough working knowledge of instructional design models, adult learning theory, educational psychology, learning assessment, and distance education.
  • Experience with a learning management system, such as Blackboard.
  • Knowledge and proven application of skills in instructional design, adult learning, accessibility, copyright, and best practices in course development.
  • Familiarity with various synchronous and asynchronous e-learning tools, such as Respondus, online meeting tools, Teams, Microsoft Office 365, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Rise 360 / Articulate 360, etc.
  • Web design experience, including familiarity with accessibility issues.
  • Experience training on learning technologies and adult learning / best practices in various environments (one-on-one, small group, large classroom, web-based).
  • Experience providing technical support, preferably specific to learning technologies.
  • A curious mindset is needed for this position and openness to learning new technologies and helping put strategy into action.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new multimedia technologies to discover new and better ways to enhance instruction to assist JSOM faculty in improving their instruction with technology.
  • Train and supervise Program Specialist II and Student Workers.
  • Manage online course review and auditing process.
  • Conduct training sessions with both JSOM faculty and students on how to use new technologies such as Blackboard, multimedia videos, and interactive Rise 360 / Articulate 360 / Storyline modules.
  • Assist professors with minor updates to Rise 360 / Articulate 360 / Storyline modules.
  • Create training videos and interactive learning modules for JSOM faculty and students.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer using video production tools (i.

e. Camtasia), interactive authoring tools (i.e. Articulate).

  • Work with JSOM subject-matter experts (SMEs) and identify JSOM students’ learning needs and recommend best practices and technology to meet those needs.
  • Work with faculty to set up courses in eLearning (Learning Management System), with a focus on asynchronous course refreshes.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods to the development of multimedia learning materials.
  • eLearning : Course design and development for all programs. Liaison with UTD eLearning department. Maintain accessibility standards for eLearning courses.
  • Training : Responsible for training faculty and teaching assistants on eLearning and other tools.
  • Troubleshooting and technical support for instructors, students, and other staff.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with multiple programs within JSOM.

Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information Remote Work Notice

A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employee must be located within the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and / or with 24-hour notice.

Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required.

Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
