We're seeking a forward-thinking sound designer / audio technologist to join our Sound Lab Team and shape the sound of our brand and products, spanning vehicles, software interfaces, and marketing.

The ideal candidate possesses a diverse range of audio design and programming skills and has experience designing sound for various products and dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Sound Design (Sound, Interaction, 3D / Spatial) for various audio touch points across the product (Vehicle (Interior & Exterior), App, Operator Tools)
• Envision and create original sound design concepts for multiple products and environments
• Work on sequencing and WWISE type platforms to emulate and mock up audio UX sequences on prototyping platforms and on vehicle
• Develop audio prototypes to work with current and experimental vehicle HW systems
• Audio SW Programming, understanding of JSON configuration and SW audio code (e.g Game, Automotive and Interactive Audio)
• Help to develop the Audio UX Architecture and Strategy (UX Sequence Design, UX Flow & Guidelines) to inform SW / HW System
• Audio post production work for Video Content (dialogue edit, SFX edit, mixing)
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across Zoox to incorporate innovative audio design into products (software, firmware, engineering)
• Manage audio databases, keep assets organized and update internal facing repositories of Sound Lab deliverables and content.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UX sound design experience
• Experience working with interactive audio touchpoints
• Extensive knowledge of audio creation tools and workstations (e.g. ProTools, Reaper)
• Familiarity with C++, Python, Javascript, Github
• Mastery of audio synthesis techniques (e.g. analog, additive, granular, FM)
• Experience with game engines and audio middleware (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Wwise, FMOD, Kyma)
• Experience in post-production sound

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position : salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.

The salary range for this position is $132,000 to $189,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package.

Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.

The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
