Your Impact

The Bartender in an upscale senior living community plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests and residents while ensuring responsible alcohol service and maintaining the smooth operation of the bar.

You will contribute a lasting impression on guests and residents enticing them to return for more memorable experiences.

Job Specific Duties

Drink Preparation and Service :

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Create cocktails and specialty drinks according to recipes.
• Serve wine and beer, ensuring proper pouring techniques.

Customer Service :

• Greet customers and take drink orders.
• Provide recommendations and answer questions about the menu.
• Engage with patrons to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Inventory and Stock Management :

Monitor and maintain inventory of liquor, mixers, and other bar supplies.

• Restock bar supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
• Order supplies and manage deliveries.

Cash Handling and Record Keeping :

• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions using a POS system.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and inventory.

Compliance and Safety :

• Verify age of guests to ensure they meet legal drinking age requirements.
• Comply with all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
• Practice responsible serving to prevent over-consumption and ensure resident and guest safety.

Bar Maintenance and Cleanliness :

• Keep the bar area clean and sanitized, including counters, glasses, and utensils.
• Clean up spills, breakages, and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning and setting up the bar area.

Collaboration and Teamwork :

• Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Assist in training new bar staff and share knowledge of drink preparation and service.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory needs, customer feedback, and any issues that arise.

Promotions and Specials :

• Promote bar events, specials, and new drink items to customers.
• Develop and create new drink recipes and menu items.
• Engage in upselling techniques to boost sales.

What you will need

• 1+ year of prior bartending experience, preferably in an upscale restaurant or country club setting.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional presentation.
• ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
• Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
• High School Diploma / GED
