What are we looking for? We are looking for an early childhood education (STEM & Coding) Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal : providing a fun and safe learning environment for 5 -14-year-old children.
This individual is responsible for coaching and engaging students and guide them to perform STEM activities and teach them coding for kids from our curriculum.
Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching STEM activities and building problem-solving skills in young minds?
Have you mentored youth? Do you LOVE video games? This could be the role for you. Responsibilities include :
- Training go through the curriculum and learn it
- Create a positive and safe environment in which children can grow
- Work with children to determine skill sets
- Provide feedback to parents after working with children
- Follow opening / closing duties daily
- Clean / organize dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
- Report weekly to Center Director / owner on progress
- Report daily to Center Director / owner with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo
In this role, you'll wear many hats an enthusiastic educator, a creative facilitator, and a supportive guide. Your days will be filled with :
- Developing and delivering interactive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and ignite a love of learning and boost curiosity and growth mindset and confidence.
- Creating a stimulating classroom environment that fosters exploration, collaboration, and a sense of wonder.
- Utilizing creative teaching methods like storytelling to teach hands-on STEM activities and coding for juniors. No coding experience is required.
- Building strong relationships with kids and their parents, fostering their social and emotional development, and celebrating their individual strengths and wins.
- Communicating effectively with parents providing regular updates on student progress.
- Staying current on best practices in early childhood education and collaborating with colleagues for continuous improvement
Qualifications :
- Working history with children ages 5 -14 (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
- Experience working with the general public
- Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care
- Works well with others; collaborates
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
- Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
Schedule
This is a part time opportunity (approx. 20 to 25 hours per week) with a potential to become full time depending on the number of kids enrolled.
Compensation : $ - $17 per hour
