edu Position Details Job Summary EWU is currently seeking a Director of Procurement and Contracts. The director serves as the Chief Purchasing Officer for EWU and supervises the Department of Procurement & Contracts.
- The Department is responsible for facilitating and overseeing the purchasing process university-wide, including maintaining vendor profiles, entering budget encumbrances, processing requisitions, reimbursements, and purchase orders, and administering and auditing the use of purchasing cards (p-cards), fuel cards, and corporate accounts.
- In addition, the Department negotiates and executes all contracts for the purchase of goods and services and public works for the university, including managing competitive solicitations.
- Further, the Department is responsible for affiliation agreements for practicum placements, interagency agreements and memoranda of understanding, data sharing agreements, international placement agreements, and grant / research contracts.
- The director is also responsible for EWU’s supplier diversity program.

The salary for this position is $85,793 (minimum) up to $120,110. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

- A master’s degree in business administration or closely related field; or a juris doctorate.
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in procurement, public works bidding, or contract management.
- Ability to maintain professional and collaborative interactions with other staff and university constituents. Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to manage a complicated workload, set priorities, communicate consistently with campus constituents, and meet required deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and complex contract analysis.
- Demonstrated experience promoting cultural humility, diversity, inclusivity, and workplace civility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience serving in a supervisory / managerial / executive capacity with direct supervisory experience over a team of individuals.
- Previous experience working in bidding and contracts for a public entity.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Banner, and other operational software programs.
- Experience in forecasting, development, and management of operating budgets.
