Controller - Commercial Construction-Miami, FL

I am searching for an experienced Controller specializing in commercial construction, proficient in QuickBooks and Procore.

Proven expertise in financial management, cost control, and accounting, with a successful history of implementing efficient financial systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Management and Reporting :

• Prepare and oversee financial statements.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.

Accounting Operations :

• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure accurate financial transaction recording in QuickBooks and Procore.
• Reconcile bank statements and inter-company accounts.

Project Cost Control :

• Implement cost control systems to track project expenses.
• Review project cost reports and address cost overruns.
• Ensure accurate job costing and expense allocation.

Compliance and Audit :

• Ensure GAAP compliance and prepare for audits.
• Maintain and update internal control policies.

System Implementation and Maintenance :

• Oversee QuickBooks and Procore implementation.
• Train staff on financial software use.

Financial Analysis and Strategy :

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Develop financial models for business scenarios.

Team Leadership and Collaboration :

• Lead and mentor accounting professionals.
• Collaborate with project managers and departments.
• Facilitate financial meetings and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA / CMA preferred.

Experience :

• 8+ years in accounting / financial management in commercial construction.
• Proven QuickBooks and Procore experience.

Technical Skills :

Proficient in QuickBooks, Procore, and Excel.

Analytical and Problem-Solving :

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Communication and Leadership :

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Attention to Detail :

High accuracy in financial reporting and ability to manage multiple tasks.
