The Organization

Founded in 1977, Vinfen is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing community-based behavioral health and disability services with footprint in Eastern Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Vinfen has a workforce of over 3,000 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $300M.

The Position

Vinfen is seeking a Chief Analytics and Performance Officer (CAPO), who reports to the CEO and is a member of the executive team.

A new role created to lead Vinfen's transformation into a data-and-analytics-driven organization, the CAPO is responsible for developing the organization's analytics and performance management strategy, building measurement infrastructure, and establishing processes around data-driven decision-making and business execution.

The CAPO will work closely with other senior leaders to enhance operational efficiency, support business growth, and improve outcomes through insightful data analysis and evaluation, planning, and performance management practices.

Specific scope of responsibilities will be optimized based on the credentials of the candidate.

Responsibilities :

Strategic leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics and performance management strategy, which substantially centralizes Vinfen's analytics and performance management capabilities onto an efficient and consistent platform.

Advise the CEO and collaborate with the rest of the executive team in establishing an analytical foundation for Vinfen's performance management model.

Align analytics and performance management initiatives with the company's strategic objectives to drive growth and efficiency.

Data and analytics infrastructure developmentDesign, build, and acquire data infrastructure that is necessary to support the organization's data-driven approach to performance management.

Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to progress business decision-making.Ensure data integrity, accuracy, articulation, and accessibility across the organization.

Develop and maintain increasingly advanced data analytics models to predict, evaluate, and improve business performance.

Performance management Design and implement performance measurement frameworks, dashboards, and processes. Domains of analytics and performance management include but are not limited to : segmentation of Vinfen client populations, financial performance of Vinfen programs, workforce effectiveness, quality and service outcomes.

Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop actionable insights to enhance business performance.Lead ongoing evaluation and reporting of business performance and collaborate with other leaders to identify and fulfill performance improvement opportunities.

  • Business Planning Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments in the development of the Vinfen's business plan, ensuring that business plans are aligned with and supportive of the organization's strategic goals and financial sustainability.
  • Strategic initiatives Develop sophisticated analytical frameworks to support Vinfen's decision-making on major strategic changes.

Evaluate new business strategies, opportunities, and transactions with rigorous ROI analysis, including scenario-based risk measurement.

Develop analytically-anchored outputs to support Board communication, stakeholder engagement, and external negotiations.

Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights.

Communicate complex data findings in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders at all levels.Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Team leadership and resource managementRecruit, develop, lead, and mentor a high-performing analytics and performance management team.

Ensure effective use of analytical resources, including optimizing insource and outsource options.

Technology and innovation Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in analytics and performance management.

Implement innovative solutions to enhance data analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • A mission-driven leader committed to the cause of improving the lives of people with mental illness and disabilities.
  • Master's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience of responsibility in data analytics, business transformation, and performance management in the broad health and human industries.
  • Proven track record of development and implementing successful analytics strategies.
  • Expertise in data analysis tools and techniques, including statistical software and data visualization tools.
  • Exceptional change management, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in leading data-driven decision-making and fostering a data-centric culture.
  • A team player that is highly effective in a collaborative organizational culture
