Senior Quality Engineer

Position Summary :

Walmart’s Payments group is responsible for enabling the core services and systems that support customers’ ability to pay for merchandise on the eCommerce platform, and to provide a bulletproof payment experience for customers in stores and online.

As a Senior Quality Engineer of the Payments processing team, you’ll be contributing to transforming products and platforms in this space.

• The Unified Payment team has been chartered to provide a singular payment solution for Walmart and its multitude of ecosystems.
• The first milestone tasked for this team is to move payment processing workloads for US stores from a mainframe-based system to a cloud-native solution.
• Payment processing is arguably one of the most critical functions for any retailer, more so for Walmart considering its size and customer focus.
• Being a unified payment solution, it will also be handling ecommerce and omni-channel payment workloads across Walmart and its subsidiaries.
• Being a highly visible application on the customer journey critical path makes this a high impact application on the customer experience.

What you'll do :

• Providing end-to-end testing methodology and strategy for payment systems and services, creating and executing test plans, test cases, and scripts to determine optimal application performance.
• Setting up and executing manual and automation tests, deriving KPIs, and conducting periodic measurement analysis.
• Performing root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing requirements.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to a small team of engineers.

What you’ll bring :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of experience in computer science or related field.
• Proven ability to perform end-to-end certifications with Payment acquirers and hardware providers.
• Proficient in automating tests using Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, WebDriver IO, Appium, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in building UI and API Test Automation Frameworks and libraries.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Experience in Agile / Scrum / Kanban model.
• Proficient in any of the programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python.
• Experience in setting up CI / CD pipeline with Jenkins and GitHub.

Minimum Qualifications :

Option 1 : Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software quality assurance, manual / automated testing, or related area.

Option 2 : 5 years' experience in software engineering quality assurance, manual / automated testing, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications :

Industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare), Master's degree in Software Engineering Quality Assurance, Manual / Automated Testing, or related area and 1 year’s experience in Software Quality Assurance, Manual / Automated Testing, or related area, Quality assurance certification (for example, CSTE - Certified Test Engineer, CSQA - Certified Software Quality Analyst), Software Engineering Quality Assurance, Manual / Automated Testing, or related area.

We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.

2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
