Description :
The Accounts Specialist records transactions in the financial records of the Institute including processing Accounts Payable (A / P), Accounts Receivable (A / R), preparing recurring journal entries and adjustments, reconciling account balances, and assisting in month and year-end closing procedures.
The Accounts Specialist also acts as a backup to the Procurement and Contracts Position, requires strong knowledge of related financial and purchasing systems to serve as backup support for critical functions.
Requirements :
Business or Accounting Associate degree and 2 years related experience, or at least 5 years commensurate applicable experience.
Basic understanding of accounting, cost allocation concepts, and reconciliation skills.
Strong follow-up skills.
Reliable and extremely trustworthy.
Exceptional critical thinking skills, impeccable attention to detail.
Strong time management skills and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills with internal staff and external vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
Working knowledge of Quartzy preferred.
Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly growing and dynamic environment.
