Description
8am 4 : 30pm / Full Time / 40 Hours
The primary responsibilities of the Dosimetrist are to design treatment plans by means of computer and / or manual computation with optimal beam geometry to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
- Additional responsibilities include providing assistance and technical support to the Medical Physicist, in radiation safety and protection;
- qualitative machine calibrations and quality assurance of treatment plans and radiation oncology equipment; to utilize radiation monitoring devices to measure radioactivity and perform assays;
teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students, radiation therapists and residents and to participate in clinical research and continuing education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited medical dosimetry program with board certification required within the first three years of hire.
If board certification is not obtained within three years, employee will be separated.
