Overview
Basic Function The massage therapist performs professional quality massages and body therapy services for Spa guests. Essential Functions Provides massage treatments and body treatments for clientele in a consistent manner as directed by the Spa of the Pines protocols.
Designs specific sessions based on client consultation to determine what level of intensity or areas to target for service.
Assists in the promotion of the health and wellness benefits to clients receiving massage therapy on a regular basis. Creates memorable guest / client experience through professional, friendly, and helpful attitude.
Follows all practice policies and protocols. Must maintain current clientele while continuing to build new clientele. Ensure outstanding service through upholding spa flow of greeting the guest, consultation, treatment and closing.
Recommends products for home use and suggests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa. Begins and ends all treatments on time.
Ensures work areas are clean and equipment is disinfected according to procedures. Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
Works with guest to resolve issues and escalates when needed to supervisor or manager. Maintains current on all licensure and insurance.
Create and maintain guest files according to procedures. Marginal Functions In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions as determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the hotel.
1. Respond to and complete any reasonable task assigned by leadership. 2. Attend necessary meetings, including department meetings.
3. Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two - Four years of experience as a Massage Therapist preferred.
Or a combination of certified education and experience. Certified Massage License. Previous spa experience preferred. Must have excellent bedside manners.
Must have physiological knowledge. Must know, understand, promote, and follow proper health and safety standards including creating a safe and effective environment.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have superior procedural skills with the ability to endure labor-intensive, demanding, and constant physical effort and precision when providing massage services.
Must be able to connect with various types of personalities. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and uniform.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly to ascertain and document client information. Must be able to work various schedules, including days / nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
