Executive General Adjuster and Assistant Vice President - western / southwestern United States
73310 Zurich North America is currently searching for an experienced Commercial Property Claims Professional to join our large loss claims team.
Our Property Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers mitigate commercial property and business losses in the moments that matter the most.
Our mission and purpose is to get our customers back on their feet and operational as quickly as possible - to help mitigate damages and recover from losses while guiding them through the claims process.
As an Executive General Adjuster, you will leverage your technical claims handling experience, leadership potential, general business acumen and customer-led approach to independently manage a large loss caseload of claims with the highest and most complex exposures and policy limits from assignment through resolution.
As a colleague of the Property organization, you will :
- Apply your knowledge of insurance contracts, coverage, and other relevant documents and information to adjust losses
- Leverage litigation claims management expertise
- Learn and apply knowledge of Property Team Best Practices and other internal processes in claim handling
- Partner with other internal business functions to facilitate quality claims resolution
- Collaborate with colleagues in a team environment to resolve complex claims issues
- Partner with customers, brokers, vendors and other external stakeholders that are critical to the success of the claims lifecycle
- Support Catastrophe responses as may be needed
You will be an ambassador for Property Claims and Zurich North America, delivering the highest standards of claims service excellence and best practices, and effectively developing partnerships with key customers, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders that are critical to the success of the claim lifecycle.
You will also have direct accountability for your overall results and contributions in support of Claims strategy and goals.
You must be willing and able to travel up to 50%.
You will work out of a home-based office.
To optimize the needs of the business and our customers, this position will ideally be located in Arizona or Colorado but we will consider western / southwestern United States.
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the technical Claims area, including large complex commercial property claims
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims Technical area, including large complex commercial property claims
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 7 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area, including large complex commercial property claims
- Must obtain and retain required adjuster license
- Computer / Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications :
- 7 or more years of claims experience in the commercial property line of business
- Experience with litigated commercial property large losses and exposures
- Experience handling market losses
- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction and time elements
- SCLA, CPCU, AIC
- Analytical skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment and across work groups
- J.D. (Juris Doctor)

The salary range for this role is $94,300 to $117,900. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting.
Zurich NA may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado.
This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
