The Ideal Candidate :
Should be a self-starter that possesses good communication skills and exhibits high potential attributes that can be cultivated to a leadership role.
The candidate will be responsible for performing measurement, testing, and recording the results of the inspection of our products in accordance with specifications and established quality standards.
This person will work from prints, technical instruments, samples, control plans, inspection procedures, and instructions as required.
Objective :
Perform duties to inspect, measure, record and approve a variety of received material characteristics. Also perform inspection department duties throughout the in-process inspection area as assigned.
With little supervision, person will work from prints, equipment manuals, technical instruments, software, samples, inspection procedures and instructions as required.
Duties :
1. Measure first piece sample part characteristics and compare and record variances between sample part metallurgical / dimensional results and print / control plan specifications.
2. Inspect and measure a variety of in-process characteristics and test to ensure parts meet established specifications and approve for the next operation.
Report any non-conformances to the MRB.
3. Perform tests as required by control plans and report any non-conformances to the MRB.
4. Maintain and clean precision measuring equipment.
5. Analyze part quality problems and recommend corrective action.
6. Assist plant personnel with inspection methods, procedures, and equipment.
7. Maintain and update a variety of department records and files.
8. Keep Director of Quality informed of unusual quality issues.
9. Make sure all quality documents are completed and put with the router packet and any missing are found or reported to management.
10. Assist with containment and / or release of non-conforming material thru management of a hold cage.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : High School
Experience : 1-3 years in quality with emphasis on gauge and specification review techniques.
Skills : Shop math, blueprint reading, GD&T print requirements, follow inspection instructions, knowledge of computer systems, and good communication skills.
