Job Summary :
Under the direction of the Radiology Director, and a radiologist, performs imaging procedures producing two-dimensional high frequency sound waves to create diagnostic images of the human body for use in diagnosis of medical conditions, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
Responsibilities include knowledge of all Ultrasound procedures, proper patient positioning, exposures, Utilization of PACS, implementation of patient charges, and assists physicians as required.
Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required, or set forth. Recognizes the need for control / assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS : High School graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an accredited Ultrasonography program preferred.
CPR Certification required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals and labels. Use eyes, hands and fingers with skill.
Work fast in an emergency situation.
Effectively communicate with people when they are sick, handicapped, or nervous.
Follow instructions exactly. Record information accurately. Ability to care for patients of all ages.
