LOCATION : Remote This is a home based, virtual position that operates within the hours of 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm EST. This person must live in North Carolina or within 40 miles of the NC border.
Must be willing to travel to the Asheville NC office as needed.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under the supervision of the Member Engagement Manager, the Member Engagement Coordinator performs community outreach, communication, and administers stakeholder support necessary to carry out Vaya Health’s member and recipient engagement strategies, which fulfill requirements in the North Carolina 1115 Medicaid waiver, as well as other contracts and accreditation standards.
This position is key to maintaining Vaya’s positive, working relationships with members of designated stakeholder groups.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Serve as the identified liaison to Vaya Health’s Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC), Human Rights Committee (HRC), Innovations Stakeholder group, Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Member Advisory Committee, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Stakeholder group.
Relationship management : For members of the stakeholder groups supported, serve as a point of contact for non-clinical, non-crisis issues related to the responsibilities of the stakeholder groups, as well as basic system navigation and resources.
Respond to requests for information that members and recipients who serve on the stakeholder groups wish to share with others in their communities.
Stakeholder group membership recruitment : Outreach to prospective stakeholder group members; assist with application and orientation processes for new committee / group members;
deliver presentations to member, recipient and other community stakeholder groups
Promote member engagement : Identify opportunities and assist members to participate in other member engagement events / opportunities, such as conferences, trainings, health fairs and Vaya’s internal committees e.
g. Clinical Advisory Committee and Quality Improvement Committee.
- Clerical support : Provide support for designated stakeholder groups to fulfill their responsibilities including, but not limited to, meeting minutes, stipend requests, mileage reimbursements, meeting handouts, etc.
- Meeting preparation : Coordinate meeting location reservations, meal and supply purchasing, room arrangement, technology setup, etc.
Community Outreach : Represent Vaya at community outreach events that promote member and recipient engagement with available health and wellness services and supports.
Conduct presentations to educate members, recipients and other community stakeholders about engagement opportunities, Vaya Health, and other approved content.
Other duties as assigned .

- Working knowledge of stakeholder, member and recipient engagement requirements outlined in contractual, statutory and accreditation guidelines

- Working knowledge of computer and videoconferencing applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) required to perform essential job functions
- Familiarity with State and Federal privacy regulations
- Knowledge about Vaya providers, services and stakeholders
- Thorough knowledge of Vaya policies, procedures, and organizational direction
- Ability to interact with Administration and other staff in a tactful, articulate manner, and represent the interest of the administration of Vaya in the most professional manner possible.
QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree in human services field plus three years of experience working with members and families
- Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in a human service program.
Or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
- Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers.
- Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time.
- Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.

SALARY : Depending on qualifications & experience of candidate. This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation.
