We are currently recruiting a faculty member for a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PC-PNP) Program Coordinator position.

The PC-PNP Program Coordinator is responsible for the PC-PNP program of the College. The PC-PNP Program Coordinator ensures that the standards and policies of the College of Nursing, the Health Science Center (HSC), and the University are met in the PC-PNP program, and further that the program achieves the highest standards for Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner education outlined by national bodies in nursing education.

The incoming faculty member will teach and maintain an active CPNP-PC national certification, integrating teaching and clinical experiences to fulfill our educational mission.

Responsibilities include facilitating curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the PC-PNP program;

classroom and simulation teaching; mentoring, advising and precepting students; assisting with clinical placements, community outreach and overseeing student progress.

Additionally, they will participate in program activities and committees to achieve program goals. The primary focus of the position is to teach content and oversee the PC-PNP program.

This is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, DNSc, DRPH, EdD)
  • Three years Primary Care PNP practice experience
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license and CPNP-PC national certification
  • Clinical preceptor or didactic teaching experience
  • Must be eligible for licensure in New Mexico

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with rural and / or underserved populations
  • Experience mentoring Doctor of Nursing Practice students
  • Didactic teaching experience in the last 5 years
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
