Commercial Loan Specialist- Victoria, Sugar Land or Plano

POSITION SUMMARY :
Performs the daily functions associated with the ordering and review of commercial loan documents, booking and funding complex commercial loans while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and Prosperity Bank policies and procedures.
Supports lending staff (CRE, Middle Market, Professional & Entrepreneurial, Corporate / Energy and / or Commercial Lending).
Interacts with lenders, borrowers, underwriters and credit analysts, Information Technology, Compliance, Audit, and other departments as well as outside vendors such as attorneys, title companies and insurance companies.
Shifts start as early as 7 : 30am to as late as 7pm (typically 8-5pm) Monday through Friday. On occasion must be available at other times for special events, projects, and during high loan volumes or the end of month.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES :
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of PB policies, procedures, guidelines, and philosophies.
- Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of commercial loan documentation, understanding legal entities and loan documents such as Notes, Security Instruments, Loan Agreements, etc.
- Reviews LaserPro and attorney prepared documents prior to booking and funding to ensure loan stipulations on the Loan Approval and Credit Memorandum are met.
- Works with loan officers, borrowers, title companies and / or attorneys in closing and funding of loans
- Reviews title policies to ensure accurate legal description, loan amount, and acceptable exceptions; prepares loan closing instructions for title company closings.
- Determines proper loan system coding (e.g., product type, collateral codes, call codes, etc.) and books loans to the core system.
- Funds loans accurately and ensures financial transactions balance each day.
- Provides top quality service to lenders and lending staff, while meeting service guarantees
- Provides documentation expertise to the team, assisting others with interpreting complex loan documents.
- Works routinely with senior lenders and upper management
- Follows all compliance policies and procedures, OCC rules and regulations, state and federal laws governing responsibility area of lending.
- Completes annual compliance testing / training / certification on time.
- Provides technical assistance & policy guidance to team members as needed.
- Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as required, assigned or directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS) :
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years current loan document review & closing experience as described in the above duties including experience in at least two key lending areas such as Corporate / Energy, CRE, C&I, Entrepreneurial, Middle Market, etc.
Experience with Participations and Syndications is a plus.
- Must possess very detailed organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a positive customer service attitude.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedures, rules, and instructions, and the ability to write correspondence and other documents.
Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, external professionals and management.
- Must possess the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Disciplined self-starter requiring little supervision.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, interest, and percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Also, must possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
