The Gulf South Conference (GSC) is accepting applications for the position of Sports Information Coordinator. The opening is a 10-month appointment with a $.

00 per month stipend. In-office, weekend hours and evening work will be a component of the position.

DUTIES

The Sports Information Coordinator will work under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Commissioner for Communications.

Areas of assigned duties will include the following :

• Create original written and visual content for GSCSports.org.
• Assist in management of and content creation for social media channels.
• Provide on-site media support for assigned championships.
• Assist in coordination of conference statistical and sports information services.
• Create and / or update published programs and record books.
• Coordinate preseason and postseason all-conference and superlative awards voting.
• Attend Conference Meetings and Championships as assigned by the Commissioner.
• Work nights and weekends as necessary.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Commissioner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous experience in athletic communications or related field during undergraduate studies.
• Experience in website publishing and social media communication for a brand is a requirement.
• Strong writing and computer skills, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable software solutions is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently on a variety of time-sensitive projects.
• Commitment to excellence and attention to detail that is reflective of the position’s impact on the GSC’s public perception.
