Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our team. The CNE will be responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating Central Health nursing orientation and education programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our nursing and unlicensed assistive personnel.

This role requires a deep understanding of clinical nursing practices, strong instructional design abilities, and the ability to provide effective education and training.

The CNE is responsible for promoting best practice through staff development and education to ensure optimal and safe patient outcomes.

The incumbent acts as a key resource in the orientation and ongoing education of nursing and unlicensed assistive personnel.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions :

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge, and skills in general medical and nursing practice. Perform nursing practice in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and design nursing education programs, workshops, and training materials that align with current nursing practices, regulatory standards, and organizational goals.
  • Deliver engaging and effective education sessions to nursing staff, utilizing a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, case studies, simulations, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to nursing professionals and unlicensed assistive personnel in clinical skills, patient care techniques, and use of medical equipment.
  • Develop and implement competency assessment tools to evaluate nursing and unlicensed assistive personnel clinical skills and knowledge.

Provide constructive feedback and support for improvement.

  • Stay updated with the latest clinical guidelines, best practices, and evidence-based nursing standards to ensure education programs reflect current healthcare trends.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify education needs, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Work with interdisciplinary teams to integrate educational strategies into patient care plans.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, and unlicensed assistive personnel offering guidance on clinical practice, professional development, and career growth.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of education programs through assessments, evaluations, and feedback from nursing participants.

Revise programs as needed for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain accurate records of education sessions, participant attendance, evaluations, and outcomes. Generate reports to demonstrate the impact of education initiatives.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for enhancing patient outcomes through education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective educational content to diverse audiences.
  • High level of skill at curriculum and process development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards relating to nursing practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct, and communications always represent Central Health in a highly professional manner at all times.
  • Upholds and ensures compliance and attention to all company policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.
  • Maintains current licensure requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Three (3) years' relevant nursing experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting.

Preferred Experience :

Master of Science in Nursing

One (1) year of experience in orientation and education of nursing staff in a clinical setting.

Licenses / Certifications :

Current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.

American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) within 1 Year

Ambulatory Nurse Certification (AMB-BC) within 1-1 / 2 years
