The Project Cost Manager works with Project Managers and leadership to perform monthly financial forecasting, reviews, and cost analysis.

This position requires construction experience and daily reporting on a construction project in San Francisco.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Project Teams, subcontractors, and designers on the financial management process.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the professional development of direct reports, including Cost Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Manage monthly financial forecast, management reviews, and cost variance analysis and overall insights into financial health of the project, including earned revenue, costs spent, and profitability.
  • Review general conditions and general requirements forecasting.
  • Work with project teams on cash flow projections, identify variances, and analyze the changes.
  • Develop and calculate key performance indicators, present financial summary updates, including actuals and forecasts data to senior leadership.
  • Partner with project teams and owner to develop change management process.
  • Work with project cost engineers and accountants to ensure up to date and on time billings and payments.
  • Create, submit, and track ongoing change orders for the project and verify discrepancies with project teams.
  • Review change orders log with project managers and subcontractors to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support project estimators to review any change requests and ROM reviews.
  • Work with insurance specialist for any subcontractor claims and notices of potential claim if necessary.
  • Continuous process improvement within company and project teams.
  • Review and facilitate the audit of labor rates in accordance with contract agreement.
  • Be a liaison between internal groups and project teams in relation to any financial audits, provide support with historical and trending data.
  • Work with internal project controls to develop and implement best practices on project.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Extensive experience with CMiC software.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency - ability to write formulas, lookups, what ifs, power query, and charts.

LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven team leadership skills, including developing and managing direct reports.
  • Effective both independently and within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and quality, and strong organizational skills.
  • Sensitive to deadlines in a fast paced and fluid environment.
  • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Resourceful and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Proactive in seeking assistance when blocked on assigned tasks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or Construction Finance.

Range of base pay is $133,000-$154,800. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
