This Supervisor for Patient Access position is a full time opportunity and offers full benefits and a convenient day shift shedule (Monday -Friday).

Responsible for supervising the inpatient / outpatient registration, admitting and centralized scheduling functions of the facility in conjunction with and in the absence of the patient access manager.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

Responsible for the frontline supervision within specialty area by overseeing the daily work, completing, updating and making necessary changes in the work schedule, absence management, training employees, assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions and acts as a liaison to the department manager.

• Interviews patient or his / her representative and obtains complete and accurate personal, demographic and financial information necessary for admission.
• Verifies the patient’s insurance coverage to ensure prior authorization is completed if needed.

Maintains efficient communication with other hospital departments to facilitate the admissions process.

Ensures that the morning and night census is balanced, reported to the appropriate Facility staff and department log is updated as necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements :

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of insurance billing helpful.
• Minimum of two years experience in medical billing, collections, insurance, coding required.
• Medical terminology preferred.
