Position Summary : The Instrumentation Product Manager (IPM) is expected to take responsibility for all products related to instrumentation sales opportunities.

The IPM is the main interface with manufacturers. It is the responsibility of the IPM to train employees as needed to grow the sales and profits of the instrumentation product lines.

Primary Duties :

  • Develop technical expertise in all products designated as the responsibility of the IPM.
  • Act as the main liaison with the manufacturers of the instrumentation and associated products.
  • Facilitate training the MFCP sales organization to ensure personnel are competent in understanding products and applications for instrumentation opportunities with customers.
  • Identify new markets and associated products to expand MFCP expertise in growing the sales of instrumentation products.
  • Visit all branches within the region to develop target accounts and assist in the development of branch personnel.
  • Ensure sales leads and opportunities are promptly addressed.
  • Work with the inventory management team to ensure the establishment of proper inventory teams.
  • Oversee profitable growth and work to ensure margin enhancement for sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate efforts with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to strict Safety Guidelines.

Basic Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Experience or education in business administration is desired.
  • Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship-building skills required.
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Solid computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs.

Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.

  • Must be a good listener with above-average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner who can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented.
  • Experience with industrial distribution, preferably fluid power components preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • This position performs outside sales duties; however, as MFCP is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative team environment, employee must work in office as necessary for meetings and to complete administrative duties.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with company guidelines.

Physical Demands And Work Environment : Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Work environment includes a wide variety of situations including : manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000 / year
