We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Administrator to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will actively support the HR department with a particular focus on onboarding tasks to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into our construction team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in recruitment processes by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and collecting necessary documentation from candidates.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including organizing orientation sessions, preparing and distributing welcome packages, and assisting new hires with paperwork.
- Work closely with the HR team to implement HR policies, procedures and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.
- Maintain an up-to-date employee database, ensuring that all HR records are correctly entered and updated in the HR system.
- Provide assistance in benefits administration including enrolling new hires in benefit plans, responding to employee inquiries on benefit programs, and liaising with benefit providers.
- Support in payroll administration by verifying timesheets, processing payroll data, and coordinating with the payroll department to resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with external and internal audits related to human resources as required.
- Handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality and ensure it is stored in line with company policy and legal requirements.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Proven experience in an HR administrative or HR Assistant role, preferably in a construction or related industry.
- Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organization skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
