POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Valet Attendant welcomes all residents and guests to the community, offers directions, and provides parking instruction and valet parking.

This position reports to the First Assistant Golf Professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Welcome residents and guests; provide directions to the general parking area or offer to park cars in valet parking.
• Track the resident and guest information as instructed.
• Ensure the valet stand and work area are clean.
• Clean the windshields and dust cars that have been parked in the valet court.
• Ensure the main entrance to the club has open access for emergency vehicles, and direct emergency personnel to their destination.
• Understand the expectations for a site inspection and be able to meet and exceed the BlueStar standards.
• Respect all vehicles and drive with caution; immediately report any safety issues or accidents to a supervisor.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must meet the legal minimum age requirement, according to the Clubs insurance policy and have a clean driving record.
• Must be a careful and confident driver with the ability to drive a variety of cars and be trained in driving a manual vehicle.
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
• Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
• Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
• Must have good time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
• Valid drivers license is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

This position operates in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk (often for most of a work shift), sit and drive, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.

The position requires the ability to lift and / or push or pull items weighing up to 10 pounds. The employee must be able to see, hear, and speak clearly and understand the speech of another person.

Dependable vision is critical to this position, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for night time vision.
