Clinical Educator Midwives
An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 6 midwives to join the Maternity Education Team.
This is a well-established team who facilitate a wide variety of training for our maternity staff. This includes supporting training days such as :
- PROMPT (obstetric emergency skills)
- Our in house electronic fetal monitoring / human factors day
- Enhanced Maternity Care
- Midwives mandatory annual two day training
- Weekly CTG learning MDT meetings
The clinical education team also deliver ad hoc, small group and one-to-one training on many topics as part of mandatory updates and additionally as required.
These posts offer a wealth of training and development opportunities via external courses (examples include NLS train the trainer, Advanced CTG Masterclass, NIPE module etc).
The team is also responsible for arranging and keeping robust records of training, regular review of the Trust Training Needs Analysis and development of new innovative ideas to improve our training offer, access for our staff groups and staff wellbeing.
The posts involve working Trust wide, although working out of a local base with regular (weekly) travel is acceptable.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will :
- Support the delivery of the Training Needs Analysis within Maternity Services.
- Work with the Professional Development Midwife, Consultant Midwife, Maternity Matrons and Ward / Department Managers in supporting new staff and preceptorship midwives to the maternity Unit.
- To support the delivery of on-going education, in-service training and continual professional development of maternity staff in line with National standards.
- Promote a positive learning environment supporting woman centred, evidenced based care, autonomous midwifery practice and normality.
