The General Sales Manager's primary role is to assist the General Manager with overseeing and driving both people and financial success in variable operations.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Hands-on active manager involved in all aspects of the sales process
- Work with general manager, sales team, and finance management team to meet monthly new, used, and F&I objectives
- Assist with inventory management for both new and used car departments
- Track record of developing and mentoring sales consultants, F&I managers, and other sales managers
- Strong track record of superior results in a high-volume dealership
- Willing and able to consistently work the sales desk and customer turnovers
- Expected to lead from the front lines, manage and oversee activities of variable operations
- Highly detailed process-driven leader able to hold the staff accountable for results
- Assist sales managers with ensuring volume commitments to the manufacturer are met
- Partner with the General Manager to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel
- Communicate management policies and procedures to all team members to build morale
- Hire, train, supervise, and monitor performance of sales associates and managers (new, used, and finance)
- Motivate, reward, and train employees
- Responsible for ensuring CIT list is resolved before deadlines
- Lead by example and ensure that the core values of the company are encompassed in behavior at all times
- Other duties as determined by management
- 5-8 years of automotive experience preferred
- Strong used car management skills preferred
- Proven track record and experience as a sales consultant, F&I Manager, and Used or New Sales Manager required
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug test)
