Marathon Staffing is looking for qualified candidates for aDirect Hire, Packaging Maintenance Department Supervisor with our busy manufacturingclient in Cambridge, MA!
Manage Packaging Maintenance Department activities to meetbudget and maintain the plant packaging equipment in a safe, sanitary andefficient condition while implementing improvements to maximize plantefficiency.
Apply established Human Resources practices and procedures indeveloping subordinates to maximize individual effectiveness.
Position duties :
- Ensures efficient utilization of departmentpersonnel.
- Assists in developing annual spending plan andmanages spending in accordance with the approved plan.
- Ensures proper maintenance planning andimplements plan to maximize plant assets.
- Utilize and coordinate outside services inaccordance with spending plan to achieve goals.
- Documents and justifies needs, and specifiesinventories of supplies and spare parts.
- Ensures departmental personnel are properlytrained in packaging processes, equipment and procedures.
- Maintains technical knowledge as required forthe equipment and packaging processes via manuals, manufacturers’ training, andtraining schools.
- Coordinates with appropriate departments toensure that packaging equipment is operating in a safe, sanitary and efficientmanner.
- Coordinates with appropriate departments toensure that packaging lines are changed over and ready for startup.
- Work with Packaging Coordinator to optimizepackaging equipment / materials interface.
- Assists Plant Engineer with planning andimplementation of packaging related capital and expense projects.
- Develop a working environment which providesfair and equitable treatment of employees while applying established HumanResources practices and procedures.
- Achieves production goals and efficiencystandards using approved staffing.
- Responsible for the development and continuedeffective operation of Preventative Maintenance and Current Best Approachprograms.
- Develops written policies and procedures toensure the above goals are met.
- Provides safe work environment, supports andenforces the Plant Safety rules and policies.
- Promotes a highly motivated workforce with goodlabor relations.
- Responsible for support, auditing andenforcement of SQF and Quality policies, procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, in an engineering field(EE, ME, CE) or technical training coupled with equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of food processing packagingsystems, machinery and controls, regulatory requirements
- Proven supervisory skills
- Ability to communicate in a clear and effectivemanner.
- Knowledge of electronic control systemsincluding PLCs.
- Basic computer skills including use of MS Wordand Outlook.
- Ten years of experience in a food productionenvironment preferred
- Working knowledge of food processing systems,machinery and controls
- Knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical problemsand performing repairs
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
- Ability to lift / handle up to 35lbs
- Must pass pre-employment drug test andbackground check
Salary : $110k $120k Annually
Schedule : Monday Friday, 6 : 00am 3 : 30pm overtime or weekendsmay be requested or requested.
