Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working in close collaboration with the division's marketing, strategic communications and web teams, as well as University Technology, the Salesforce Marketing Manager will help lead the university's continued execution of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing omnichannel marketing campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, moving users through multistep journeys that drive engagement and deliver an optimal experience.
The individual will work closely with academic and University General units across the university to identify priorities, communicate ways that Marketing Cloud can assist them, and develop research- and best-practice based campaigns designed to help units meet goals related to their articulated priorities.
This individual also will oversee execution of campaigns, monitor engagement and adjust as appropriate in response to data indicators and direct user feedback.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. In consultation with Marketing and Brand Strategy leadership, develop research- and best-practice based campaigns for selected units to meet goals that would advance their articulated priorities, and participate in execution as necessary as stakeholders learn the Marketing Cloud's capabilities and ways to use them.
Design, optimize and execute campaigns using strategies such as A / B Testing, throttled sending, marketing automations and dynamic content.
Build and update communications using HTML or pre-existing templates. Personalize email content for custom customer experience (i.
e. Dynamic Content, Advanced Dynamic Content, AMPscript, etc.). Leverage AMPscript for dynamic content to include information from data extensions in emails and to update data extensions with information from Cloud Pages landing pages.
Manage dashboards and leverage analytics to optimize campaign results (50%)
2. Configure account setup and administration for users and new marketing units, including roles and permissions, sender profiles, users, data extensions, etc.
Organize and manage multiple client and project priorities. (15%)
3. Create reports and dashboards showing performance of marketing and communications efforts, from single emails to multichannel campaigns, using reporting tools in Marketing Cloud. (10%)
4. Coordinate with University Technology and University Marketing and Communications to improve organizational efficiencies and program effectiveness, using strong collaboration and communication skills to bridge teams. (15%)
5. Assist in platform training and educate stakeholders on digital marketing best practices. Respond to and close user support tickets by troubleshooting and solving platform issues. (10%)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No direct supervisory responsibility for staff employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience : 5 to 7 years in digital marketing activities including some portion of that time involved in email marketing and / or marketing automation.
At least two years experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related areas.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Demonstrated effectiveness in executing successful campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder, Einstein Engagement Scoring, Audience Builder, Cloud Pages, and SMS.
2. Proven success in producing email marketing copy and email campaigns that engage audiences and meet established marketing goals.
3. Experience creating data extensions, automations, custom journeys and Ampscript.
4. Advanced knowledge of drip campaigns, drip logic, custom template creation, and segmentation.
5. Strong attention to detail and thorough documentation.
6. Basic to intermediate HTML / CSS proficiency.
7. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL.
8. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
9. Significant knowledge of best practices in digital content.
10. Familiarity with QA testing and automation implementation.
11. Exceptional creative problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to diagnose problems and identify and implement solutions.
12. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines / fast turnaround times.
13. Ability to work independently.
14. Exceptional time-management skills.
15. Excellent interpersonal skills.
16. Knowledge and experience in Mac platform.
17. Experience with ReturnPath a plus.
18. Certification as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist a plus.
19. Ability to meet consistent attendance.
20. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office environment. A hybrid work policy requires working on campus three days a week, following completion of the university's probation period.
Will perform repetitive motion using computer mouse and keyboard. Rare emergency situations required. Some night and weekend work will be required.
Hybrid Eligibility
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department.
New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
