Job Summary :
As a Medical Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in the healthcare industry by ensuring that patients receive and understand how to use essential medical equipment.
Your responsibilities will include delivering, setting up, and instructing patients or caregivers on the proper use and maintenance of medical devices such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices.
This position requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a dedication to making a difference in the lives of patients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Equipment Maintenance : Perform cleaning, maintenance, testing, and repackaging of medical equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Inventory Management : Assist with inventory counting, reconciliation, and data entry related to medical devices.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues with the equipment, ensuring it functions correctly.
- Warehouse Duties : Assist with various warehouse tasks, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Delivery and Setup : Drive company vehicles to deliver and set up medical equipment in patients' homes.
- Patient Training : Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use and care of medical devices, ensuring they understand how to operate the equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Positive Attitude : A friendly, positive, and "can-do" attitude is essential.
- Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 120 pounds with assistance regularly as part of the job.
- Communication Skills : Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and caregivers.
- Problem-Solving : Demonstrated organization and problem-solving skills.
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience : Previous experience in medical equipment, automotive, or HVAC is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Background Check : Must pass a background check.
- Clean Driving Record : Must have a clean driving record.
