Job Description
The Vice President of New Product Innovation and Development is experienced in new product development and building their own platforms.
They will build their own team that will be responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing the strategy, experience, voice, campaigns, and capabilities of new product business lines.
The VP of NPID will oversee the identified products’ full lifecycle from start to finish including market research, developing new categories and products, creating branding strategy, content, etc.
and preparing them for launch.
Responsibilities :
- Build, lead and mentor a top performing team to support the new product line(s).
- Create content strategies based on business objectives, category focus and audience segments across all channels (online / offline / social).
- Understand competitive landscape, stay abreast of key trends, conduct competitive audits and market research to assist with decision making.
- Manage and direct creation of materials; providing feedback to meet company standards for excellency. Stays current on marketing needs to remain engaged when creating assets for the company.
- Confirm and maintain brand consistency amongst all the different divisions.
- Develop, monitor and implement budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis along with P&L reports. Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer, vendor, employee and partnership touch points align with brand strategy and support messaging priorities.
- See through products through all stages of the product lifecycle including but not limited to creating, designing, producing and growing new brands.
- Hunt, identify and drive new opportunities beyond the opportunities currently in place.
- Identify, evaluate, structure, negotiate and manage strategic licensing partnerships and business opportunities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, MBA required.
- 5 - 10+ years of leading brand marketing, brand management, marketing communications, or advertising experience.
- 5+ years B2B and B2C marketing; Experience in housewares is a plus.
- 5+ years supervisory experience with internal staff and external vendors.
- Highly analytical, strategic thinker and data-driven.
- Demonstrated experience building a brand and managing creative expression.
- Extraordinary storyteller with strong creative sensibilities and a passion for creative, brand and design.
- Proven experience growing brand awareness with key identifiable metrics and reporting. Able to foster brand loyalty and community engagement.
- Direct report management experience is required. Proven ability to lead, direct and motivate a team to achieve their potential.
- Experience growing a brand / company from early-stage to strong market presence and significant revenue is a plus.
- Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs, Google, or other technical tools in completing assignments.
Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization as a tactical and strategic partner, coach and advisor.
- Requires excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
- Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.
Requires strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer.
- Ambitious, driven, persistent and confident in own ability to achieve targets.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, demonstrated problem solving skills, strong ability to prioritize and multitask in a high volume environment.
