Our midtown Manhattan law firm has thousands of clients who have been harmed by defective medical devices and dangerous drugs.
We are seeking an entry-level Legal Assistant with excellent communication skills to join our team. You must have a friendly, helpful attitude and be a good listener who can effectively evaluate and obtain information we need from our clients to proceed with their cases.
Although 90-95% of your day will be spent on the phone with clients, you must be able to work effectively as a team player with paralegals.
Please note : You will be making approximately 250-300 calls per day (including voicemails).
Job Responsibilities
- Follow-up with clients by phone and email to expedite the return of documents required to further investigate their claim
- Follow up with medical records providers to obtain status on return of medical records
- Verify information we have previously obtained
- Skip tracing clients that we are unable to reach
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Comfortable with high volume phone calls
- Ability to prioritize efforts and work in an efficient manner
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Goal / quota-driven, self-starter who takes ownership of work
- Ability to exceed provided minimum daily call metrics consistently
Preferred Additional Competencies
- Bi-lingual (Spanish)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word & Outlook
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Suite
- Experience using Salesforce or other CMS / CRM experience
- Legal, Pharma, or Pre-med interest
