Job Title : Field Support Specialist
Location : Atlanta, GA
Salary : $65-75K with bonus potential
Job Summary for Field Support Specialists : We are searching for a self-directed Field Support Specialist who can confidently interact with customers, write technical reports, and contribute to product improvement recommendations.
The Field Support Specialist will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications of Field Support Specialists :
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a field support role with decision-making responsibilities
- Certification or degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Ability to travel 70% of the time (domestic and international)
- Proficiency in writing trip reports, test reports, and corrective action reports
- Knowledge of PLCs is highly desirable
- Ability to read and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable working at heights
Experience in PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Familiarity with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel
Responsibilities of Field Support Specialists :
Interact with customers, vendors, and contractors
Coordinate site visits and involvement of stakeholders in equipment installation and start-up activities
Ensure timely response to customer inquiries
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment
Repair equipment at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims
Perform routine inspections of existing system installations
Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities and generate accurate reports
Perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications
Clear mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items
Attend project and construction meetings when required
Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
Resolve technical issues on-site and provide ongoing customer support
Coordinate details of site visits and travel arrangements independently
