Afloat Training Group Pacific (ATGPAC) is responsible for the comprehensive training and certification of all Pacific Fleet ships.
With evolving standards and requirements, ATGPAC continually adapts to provide the necessary manpower and flexibility for effective naval and joint operations.
The mission is to deliver high-quality, dynamic afloat training to Navy and Coast Guard personnel, ensuring a combat-ready force capable of handling a broad range of maritime missions.
ATGPAC emphasizes the development of ships’ training, special evolution, and watch teams, enabling them to sustain and enhance combat readiness throughout deployment cycles.
Distributed Training Programs
ATGPAC’s training utilizes both computer-based simulations and Live, Virtual Constructive (LVC) events, conducted within the ATGSD Battle Lab.
This training encompasses live and synthetic services for non-organic ship certification, including :
- Final Battle Problem at-sea (FBP)
- Fleet Synthetic Training-Unit (FST-U)
- Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)
- Anti- Air / Surface / Electronic Warfare (AW / SW / EW) Training and Certification
- Monthly Inport Training Exercise (MITE)
- ATG Ship’s Entity Test / ATG Ships Tactical Training (ASET / ASTT)
- Strike Warfare (STW) Certification
The ATGPAC Battle Lab facilitates these exercises over the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE), Tactical Data Links (TDL), Mission Distribution System (MDS), Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT), and Global Command and Control System Maritime (GCCS-M).
Collaboration with Tactical Training Group Pacific (TTGP)
ATGPAC relies on the Tactical Training Group Pacific (TTGP) to deliver virtual training to ships and facilities under the Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) Program.
TTGP, designated as the Executive Agent for Commander, Pacific Fleet’s (CPF) Distributed Training Architecture (DTA), manages NCTE and related command and control (C2) systems as the primary NCTE node for the Pacific Fleet and serves as a persistent node for the Joint National Training Capability Training and Enterprise Network (JTEN).
Requirements :
Operational Experience :
- Expertise as a Naval Warfare Specialist.
- Operational experience in naval warfare, particularly in the implementation of the Task Group Concept as an Air Defense Warfare Commander (B / SUWC / BMD), senior staff member for a Task Group / Force Commander, or Senior Facilitator training warfare commanders or senior staff members.
- Proven experience in naval warfare operations or conducting training for naval or joint operations.
- Scenario development and training experience, with proficiency in configuration and operation of Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Multi-System Automated Remote Control Interface (MARCI), and one or more of the following systems :
- Modeling and Simulation
- Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT)
- Tactical Data Information Link systems, including LOS Link 11(A) / 16(J), Satellite-J, Link 16
- Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M)
- Tactical Voice / Data Communications
Preferred Knowledge :
- Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM)
- Composite Warfare Commander construct
- Command and Control processes for fleet surveillance, engagement, and planning functions
- Fleet operations and planning procedures
- Fleet Synthetic Training architecture
- Ballistic Missile Defense planning and operations
Education :
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required.
Security Clearance :
Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
