  • The University of Hawai'i at Manoa offers B.A., B.M., B.Ed., M.A., M.M., and Ph.D. degrees in music.Duties : Teach music courses based on the needs of the departmentDirect the Rainbow Warrior Marching BandIn collaboration with the Assistant Director of Bands, and under the supervision of the Director of Bands, administer the entire Athletic Band program, includingshow development & designcoordination & oversight of all associated band staffcoordination with UH Athleticsrecruiting and outreach activitiesConduct a concert band in the fall and spring semestersServe on department committees as assignedProvide service to the department, university, community, and field;
  • Other duties assigned by the Department ChairInstructor : Either : (a) Masters degree in music or closely related field from a college or university of recognized standing;
  • or (b) Bachelor’s degree in music or closely related field from a college or university of recognized standing and three years of teaching experience in a high school or university setting;

Demonstrated success in teaching, conducting, and leadership of marching and concert bands at the collegiate and / or high school level.

Earned doctorate in music or closely related field from a college or university of recognized standing (ABD will be considered;

all requirements for doctoral degree must be completed by July 2024);Demonstrated success in teaching, conducting, and leadership of marching and concert bands at the collegiate and / or high school level.

Demonstrated success in drill writing and arrangingDemonstrated success in recruitment and development of a collegiate or high school band programDemonstrated ability to teach music education courses (e.
