Description
Under the supervision of the Assistant to the Provost / VPAA, the main responsibilities of the Student Assistant are to :
Assist staff members with general administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, filing, printing, etc.
Support staff with the upkeep of files, databases, spreadsheets, and other records.
Greet and assist visitors
Screen and field incoming telephone calls
Reply and redirect general email inquiries professionally and redirect to staff as needed
Complete campus errands
Light housekeeping duties
Prepare, receive, and sort mail
Assist with preparation of meeting materials, design flyers / announcements and various data entry projects
Assist staff with preparation and organizing of events
Assist with other duties as needed and assigned
Qualifications :
Excellent communication skills : able to give clear and concise information and instructions verbally and in writing)
Detail oriented, professional, punctual, reliable, and flexible
Previous administrative experience and knowledge of various office procedures (use of telephone, fax, scanner, and copier) preferred.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions (must be well-organized).
Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and Google Suite preferred
USF student in good academic standing (minimum GPA : 2.0 for undergrads; 3.0 for grad students)
Customer-service oriented, personable nature
Able to maintain confidentiality and be discrete and trustworthy
Team-oriented along with the ability to work independently in an efficient manner and multi-task between concurrent projects
Student with summer availability preferred
