Position Overview :
Responsible for checking, counting parts and materials sent by vendors to verify contents of shipment packing list matches purchase orders to assure the correct parts are received and maintains shelves stocked at all times.
Work involves attention to detail and working with minimal supervision. Must have a valid WA state driver’s license with clean record (insurable) and able to drive a vehicle.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

- Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments. Checking in all air freight packages first.
- Examines parts for defects and or shortages, verifies accuracy of parts sent from vendors by comparing to our purchase orders.
Records quantities received initial and date the vendors document.
- Distributes items routed to the person that the purchase order shows for routing.
- Repackage designated parts for private labeling, and prints bar code labels and adheres to parts that are required to be labeled.
- Stock received parts daily for stock onto the proper stocking bins. Sets up bins for any new parts received in the proper locations, enters locations onto the system.
- Checks and verifies receiving errors and discrepancies when required and fill out discrepancy reports to the buyer for vendor disposition.
- Report all inventory discrepancies found to materials manager for review.
- Uses forklift and hoist as required.
- Review engineering drawings or manufacturer’s specifications for the parts or material being received
- Determine if a receiving inspection record is available for the parts or material to be received
- If needed, complete receiving inspection record.
- Determine proper sample size based on part category
- Measure / inspect parts against engineering drawings to including Actual Measurements, Acceptance Criteria.
- Determine if the parts pass / fail and enter detailed comments on the Receiving Inspection Record.
- Segregate discrepant material, tag with Hold Description Tag, and forward Receiving Inspection Records to Purchasing / Engineering for disposition.

Qualifications & Skills :
- Ability to read and differentiate different part numbers.
- Ability of safely operating a forklift and hoists.
- Proficient at basic mathematical skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical ability where problems are not difficult or complex.
- Ability to read and understand procedures and documents applicable to the job.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Basic typing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others using good interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience :
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and / or relevant experience.
- Previous 12 months parts receiving experience desired.
Physical Requirements :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and / or move items up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filling cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
