The position we are looking to fill is a trade profession in the access control, commercial lock and hardware industry. We are looking for a candidate to install commercial door hardware and access control systems in the Pacific Northwest, based out of the Seattle area .
This includes locksmith duties with keys, cores, mag locks, door locks, cabinet locks, deadbolts, door closers, exit devices, auto-openers, power supplies, to access control software / installation integration and electronic lock programing.
The standard work week is Monday through Friday, daily work hours must be flexible depending on customer / project requirements.
Signing bonus or relocation allowance can be discussed. The candidate will be given a fully equipped company vehicle to provide services to our established customers.
The candidate must fit the below criteria.
- Experience in commercial door hardware; familiar with multiple brands and functions of locks, door closers, and keying systems.
- Experience working with an access control software platform. Examples are RS2, Lenel, Open Options, etc.
- Ability to do the work of the position without supervision, to interpret instructions, specifications, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to independently repair, overhaul, modify, test, and install a variety of locking devices
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Ability to troubleshoot utilizing provided tools and equipment.
- Skilled in operating a wide variety of hand tools common to the locksmith and carpentry trades, such as, files, picks, tweezers, tension wrenches, powered tools, key duplicating, pinning cores and capping machines.
- The candidate may be required to work regularly scheduled overtime or emergency overtime.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds (Auto Door Openers)
- Customer Service Professional
- Record keeping and communication skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
Job Description
- Working in the field focusing on installing, trouble shooting, programming and repairing locking devices, door closers, exit devices, access control, electronic locks, card access systems to required specification and standards.
- Cutting new or duplicate keys; Assembling, removing, and replacing interchangeable cores.
- Adjusting wood or metal doors to allow proper functioning of door closures and locking devices.
- Ensure all security standards and policies are followed.
- Provide response to routine and emergency service work.
- Maintain company vehicle by keeping it clean, keeping up on servicing, preventive maintenance, etc.
- Document service and installation actions by completing work orders and service logs.
- Communicate with management on customer issues, product issues, equipment needs, production schedule, etc.
- Maintains customer confidence by being punctual, prepared and professional at all times.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities provided by Puget Sound Hardware, suppliers and manufacturers.
