Position Summary :

A part-time student technician (federal work-study) to work in the soil and water lab within the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources beginning Fall 2023.

Responsibilities consist primarily of laboratory and data entry components, with possibilities for occasional field work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :

Basic laboratory hygiene

• Basic laboratory techniques (filtering, pipetting, standard curves)
• Familiar with Excel spreadsheets and / or R for data entry
• Quantitatively capable of manipulating data for unit conversions
• Interested in environmental and natural resource-related issues (beneficial, not required)

Physical Demands :

Work standing for 5-8 hour day

• Capable of carrying 30 lb loads up to ½ mile
• For field experience, willing to work under adverse (hot, humid, sunny, wet, muddy, buggy) outdoor conditions
