Arc Herkimer is looking for energetic and motivated staff to work with individuals with disabilities and help them achieve their goals!!! A production support specialist promotes positive self-esteem of individuals in an industrial setting using a hands-on approach to train, motivate and supervise a group of individual's with disabilities to meet the work requirements of manufacturing sub-contracts.

We have a full-time position available.

Activities / duties include :

• Train and supervise individuals to meet production and quality standards
• Assist production manager with daily routine and oversight
• Perform job duties in a safe manner and ensure health and safety of individuals served
• Maintain inventory control of product and material through production process
• Prepare paperwork such as timesheets, inventory control, etc.

Position requirements :

• High school diploma / GED
• One (1) year of previous industrial experience OR experience with individuals with disabilities required
• Arc Herkimer approvable driver's license required

Candidates with an Associate's or a Bachelor's degree are paid at a higher rate!

Position is located in the Herkimer area. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7a - 3p with flexibility.

The position you are applying for requires the employee, after training by Arc Herkimer, to be able to physically assist consumers in walking, standing up, sitting down, and / or toileting and bathing.

To do so, employees are required to be able to bend, stoop, sit, stand, and lift. Intermittent but regular, moderate physical exertion will be required in connection with positioning, lifting, transferring, and otherwise assisting individuals.

The employee is also required, with assistance by Arc Herkimer, to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and S.C.I.P (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) certifications.

The employee is required to be able to physically intervene with a consumer when necessary using approved S.C.I.P. techniques.
